Stella By Starlight by Bernard Farrell is an Irish dark comedy set in the 1980s, It is centred on one night in the life of the Hudson family, Stella, Dermot and Tara, who have recently relocated to the Wicklow Hills. 

Stella and Dermot are getting the house ready for the biggest night of Dermots astronomy career, which they have invited over their old friends, the glamorous socialite Geraldine and her social climber husband Paul, to witness. 

It is also the night of their daughter Taras debs, with all four adults eager to meet Tommy, Tara’s mysterious debs date. 

Once good friends, the couples have drifted apart and we soon learn Paul and Geraldine want to get a little more out of the evening than just seeing Tara going off to her Debs. An uproarious night of mayhem unfolds.
